Merve

Amongst the list of Australia’s most renowned dance music auteurs, at the top, you’ll find Merve.

Widely regarded by industry tastemakers, curators, and punters alike as a trailblazer within the underground community. The magic within Merve’s craft lies within her ability to traverse a broad scope of styles, defying genre restrictions and expectations, all whilst sounding consistently true to her own sonic signature. From sweaty underground basement parties, to large-scale festival stages, a set from Merve will pull you in and take you on a journey.

The now Berlin based, Naarm/Melbourne native’s early years in the music industry saw her lay rhythmic roots as a music programmer, curating event lineups, and contributing to a host of local community radio stations. Driven by a keen fascination with breaking down barriers between audience and performer, Merve explores the boundaries of each space she takes to, whilst blurring the dichotomy between light and dark. Merve jumps between genres with a seamless finesse, capturing the dancefloor with her undeniably infectious energy, always bound to deliver the unexpected.

A key component within Merve’s creative process is her ability to pluck music from a rich cultural yesteryear, and curate it within a modern context; a symbiotic union which results in a refreshing dancefloor experience. This timeless approach to music curation has allowed Merve to take her craft to the global stage, clocking sets at Panorama Bar, Off Sonar, De School, Body Movements Festival, Horst Arts & Music Festival, Corsica Studios, and Robert Johnson. Closer to home, she has performed on all of Australia’s biggest stages – Strawberry Fields, Pitch, Hopkins Creek, Let Them Eat Cake, Splendour In The Grass, Piknic Electronic, and a now renowned 2019 Boiler Room debut recorded at Pitch Music & Arts Festival, which was subsequently selected as a top five performance by Resident Advisor.

In 2025, Merve returned to events and curation by launching her own party series, arcane, which centres on a love of music, the dance floor, and—most importantly—community. She was also invited to join one of Manchester’s most cherished queer parties and collectives, High Hoops, as a resident. This was followed by her first release with High Hoops, featured on their 10-year anniversary compilation.

Having supported a host of the world’s most renowned electronic artists Eris Drew, Octo Octa, Ben UFO, and DJ Pierre to name a few, Merve continues to align herself with the industry’s best and brightest, her ever-expanding resume proving she remains entirely in a league of her own.
